About Glucophage
Glucophage is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It may be prescribed along with other medication, diet and exercise for the best effect. It works by helping your body to respond better to insulin, thus lowering your blood sugar, decreasing the risk of diabetes, making menstrual cycles more regular, and increasing fertility.

Directions
Take Glucophage exactly as it was prescribed by your doctor.
It is recommended to take Glucophage with food. Swallow the tablet whole. Avoid crushing, chewing or breaking it.
If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Never take 2 doses at the same time.

Definition of Diabetes, Type 2: Type 2 diabetes is characterized by "insulin resistance" as body cells do not respond appropriately when insulin is present.
